Text: Psalm 103:2 (KJV)
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
Friends, one of the subtle battles we face daily is the battle of memory. Hence, we choose to remember or forget. Life has a way of magnifying problems while quietly hiding God’s goodness in the background. Yet, this scripture is a deliberate and call us to resist that tendency. The psalmist speaks directly to his soul, commanding it not to forget. This tells us that remembering God’s goodness is a discipline, not just a feeling. God’s goodness is evident in both the extraordinary and the ordinary moments of life. Lamentations 3:22–23 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed… They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. So, from the prayers He has answered to the dangers He has prevented, from the strength He provides to the peace He gives are show of His benefits that are at work in our lives. But when we forget His goodness, discouragement grows, faith weakens, and gratitude fades. So, let’s remembering as to renew our confidence in Him.
However, remembering God’s goodness should transform the way we live. A heart that remembers will naturally overflow with thanksgiving, humility, and trust. Psalm 145:7 declares that people shall abundantly utter the memory of His great goodness. This means God’s goodness is not meant to be hidden but it should be spoken, shared, and reflected in our daily lives. Therefore, when you carry the awareness of His goodness, your words, your attitude, and your actions begin to reflect His nature. So, let it be at the center of your thoughts, your conversations, and your worship. A life that remembers God’s goodness is a life that remains steady, joyful, and full of faith in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Point:
Oh Lord, help me never to forget Your goodness in my life but teach my heart to remember Your faithfulness in every season and to give You thanks continually in Jesus’ name.
Action Quote: Friends, when you remember God’s goodness, you strengthen your faith for what He will do next.
