Text: 1 Peter 1:2(KJV)
As newborn babes,
desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.
Friends, as babies survive with milk of their mother, so the scripture
likens the word of God as the milk for our nourishment, too. So, let’s go back
to the basics as our growth is dependent of the sincere word without alteration.
Hence, as believers we need to be strengthened, sustained, founded, by the
nutrients from the word as to gain root. Remember, the word of God feeds our
spirit, soul and body, and so we must align by faith with the word. The word is
transforming us even when it is not immediately visible but it is moving us
from milk into meat realm of maturity. Hebrews 5:12-13 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one
teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are
become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that
useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Interestingly, this sincere milk is pure and
undiluted as it has all that patterns to life and godliness. It is important we
allow our spiritual appetite to grow with the truth of scriptures as it builds
up simplicity and humility to man as we walk with God. It is the milk of the
word that makes us to live without compromise as many stumble to live by
feelings, experience etc But, we shall not be stunted in growth. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy
mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe
to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy
way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. I pray we shall begin to chew the word as to grow
gradually by our practice to read, meditate, study the word of God daily which brings
out the juice of the word for our refreshment in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINT:
Oh Lord, give us fresh thirst and hunger of Your word for
progressive growth on every side in Jesus name.
