Turn their evil conspiracy

 

Text: 2 Samuel 15:31 (KJV)

Now David had been told, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” So David prayed, “Lord, turn Ahithophel’s counsel into foolishness.”

Friends, we get to a point in life where the wicked plots and counsels for us can seem very strategic but they will still fail. On the other hands, the counsel certain times is not good because it is against God’s agenda. Such was Ahithophel who was the counsellor in those days, as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God, so he was all the counsellor to both David and with Absalom. Hence, we must be careful because some counsellors are so powerful and can work with evil intention. He was the closest adviser but later rebelled as he sided Absalom. Isaiah 54:17a No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment. You shall condemn.

Amazingly, his advise was highly esteemed and considered as if it was coming directly from God 2 Samuel 16:23 Now in those days the advice Ahithophel gave was like that of one who inquires of God. That was how both David and Absalom regarded all of Ahithophel’s advice.  Yes, David new the wisdom of his counsellor but rather prayed, may the counsel of Ahithophel be tuned into foolishness. And God answered David. So, Ahithophel advice to Absalom to pursue David immediately, but Hushai a friend of David gave a different advice which made the Ahithophel’s counsel not taken and unwise. And this lead to the downfall of Ahithophel. So, the powerful counsel of the enemy cannot prosper or override the counsel of God because no weapon of wicked can stand as the Lord will give us wisdom to manage the pretenders around today in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, may all evil counsel taken against us in any situation where we are faced with challenges scatter in Jesus name.
