Text: Jeremiah 8:22 (KJV)

Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered

Friends, the balm of Gilead is symbolic of healing and restoration. You know, a balm is used to sooth out pain but in ancient Isreal, Gilead produces a rare fragrant used for healing, too. Therefore, it promotes recovery hence Jesus of great physician is symbolically referred to be our balm of Gilead. As we know Jesus brings healing that affects our spirit, soul and body. Jere 46:11 Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured. It is the divine balm that healed the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years as virtue left Jesus by His power of healing. He is still fulfilling His mandate today over our lives as His balm makes completely whole.

Amazingly, Jesus healing is deeper and it touches our emotional being for total transformation inside and outside. . Psalm 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions Yes, His healing goes into our spiritual lives that restores us back to our creator.
