The Sound Mind

Text: 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power; and love, and of a sound mind

Friends, as a believer we must cultivate and discipline our minds as it is the seat of wisdom and faith.  This is a mind that is God-centered. Yes, you are not swayed by every storm of life because your anchor is rooted in Him. Hence, it is a gift from God as He takes away the reprobate and fleshly mind and gives us the mind of Christ which is sound in all ramifications including humility with peace.  Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Sound mind is a mind that helps us to live in confidence with clarity as to navigate life challenges. Therefore, it is the word of God that renews our mind to a level relationship with Jesus as He takes away the carnal mind that does not please God.

Interestingly, Jesus transfuses His divine nature to us as we yield our hearts to Him in faith.  He transforms our mind as we daily read, study and meditate on the word of hope. Romans 12: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.   So, we can strengthen our thoughts by filling our minds with the truth of the scriptures. Henceforth, there is no more confusion and mental chaos as fear cannot overtake us because the mind we now carry is flooded with love and courage that makes us to do exploit with Christ in the world of sin in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:

1.       Oh Lord, remove the mind of fear and anxiety that has kept us bound out of Gods agenda as you give us the mind of Christ today in Jesus name.

ACTION QUOTE: Remember, as we get focused with His covenant, He creates in us a new heart.
