The voice of “GO NOT UP”

 

Text:1 Chro 14:14 (KJV)

Therefore David inquired again of God: and God said unto him Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

Friends, there are moments we eager to fix or act and make move in our lives but God says not now, we must be attentive to follow because the courage and strength for victory is in God. So, we must be sensitive to hear the No of God in a matter even though there are seasons He will say go. We should not be over familiar to the instruction and the voice of God as many predicts His voice. This has made many to fail victim of destruction. Yes, David had inquired of the Lord in the earlier verse where he had inquired shall I go up against the Philistines? And will thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said to him, Go up for I will deliver them into thine hand. But, in the later scripture as it is written above, as he inquired again of God He said “Go not up” after them. Which means not now, wait, be still, be patient etc And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands.”
— 1 Samuel 17:47.  So, let’s remember victory or success does come with our weapons but on the wisdom from above that is why we should allow God to lead us. Deuteronomy 1:42 “And the Lord said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies

Interestingly, we should learn to align with God’s will and not our strength or feeling. So, when He says go not up, it means, God is not there. Hence, God works with processes and systems, so don’t go faster than He leads. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”
— Romans 9:16. Remember, there are consequences if we disobey the No of God. This delayed obedience had made many lose their possessions and inheritance in God as well as lose battles because of timing to wait just for a while. But, God by His wisdom, when He says NO, we must learn to relax because we can still gain victory in the battle ahead, so we should not run ahead of His plans. Therefore, let’s not allow our confidence to be built in impulse rather in obedience to God’s instruction because it will make us to be defeated in any battle in life. But I pray, we shall allow the” No of God” to rule us today in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, may we not refuse the instruction of God rather help us not to be late in the No of God so we shall not regret in our lives in Jesus name.
