Text: James 1:21(KJV)
Wherefore lay apart
all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Friends, how we receive the word determines, the
impact in our lives. The word is life giving, so as we engraft the word into
our being, it produces the benefit of salvation. We are encouraged to receive
it with meekness as to enjoy the saving grace of God upon us. The word is
implanted, inserted into us as we read, study and meditate on the word. Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I
might not sin against thee. So,
we are not just hearing the word but it is imprinting power and deliverance upon
us that brings obedience of faith. The word is a force which shapes our
thoughts, actions and character. However, the word should not just be in our
lips but also in our hearts as it gains root and grow daily. Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you
richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns
and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Amazingly, it is the engrafted word that helps us
to bear the spiritual fruits in this kingdom. Hence, it transforms us to bring
forth right living as God’s children. John 15:7 If
ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it
shall be done unto you. Therefore, when His word is internalized it
renews our minds and bring forth spiritual maturity which save our soul. So, as
an engrafted word, it should be inseparable but shall become part of our daily being
in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, may your word bring about life, strengthen us with wisdom that will
bring comfort in our daily decisions in Jesus name.
