Text: John 2:5 (KJV)
His mother saith
unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
Friends, we must mature as believers to walk into the next level
of obedience where we are not just hearing instructions but we are practically
taking actions. Actually, this is a step
of faith because that is what brings outstanding results which is expressed as
the miraculous. Seeing that the instructions are unclear we must still heed to
the leading of God’s word as it comes to us as a command with hidden attributes
for creativity. So, we should learn to be sensitive to divine instructions as
it brings about transformation even when it does make sense. 1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel
said, Hath the Lord as
great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of
the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. Let’s learn to faithfully obey all
even promptly in sacrifice today.
Interestingly, the first miracle of Jesus in our text today came
by the obedient deed of the disciples. We can see how Jesus turned ordinary
water into sweet wine by this unusual instruction – whatsoever he saith unto
you, do it. This is a level of total submission to God’s word just like Mary
said - Luke 1:38 Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to
thy word. The seemingly simple instruction to fill waterpots with water
which turned into sweet wine was a great shift that came by action. The answer
is in doing, so take step today and receive your tangible answers for your
future. James 1:22 But
be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
I pray we shall not live on delayed or selective instruction rather obey all
from the word of His command in Jesus name.
PRAYER
POINT:
1. Heavenly Father,
help us not to be casual over your instructions through your word, through your
spirit or from godly counsels for a productive living in Jesus name.
