Text: Malachi 2:1-3 (KJV)
And now, O ye priests, this
commandment is for you. If ye will not hear, and if ye
will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a
curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them
already, because ye do not lay it to heart. Behold, I
will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your
solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it.
Friends, we must make thanksgiving the bases of our actions and our
attitudes by recognizing the goodness and sovereignty of God over us. It is a
foundation that we must lay to build upon as it helps us to shape our
intensions in any adventure. It is a command that we must hear and follow as a
covenant. So, let us learn to give God all the glory so that he will not send
us a curse that will corrupt our blessings and seeds. Can you imagine God spreading dung on your
faces, who then can take it away? Beloved ingratitude is a deadly curse, so we
must flee from it. We should not mistake engracement for an achievement before
we see disgracement. Deut 8:10-11 When
thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee. Beware
that thou forget not the Lord thy
God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes,
which I command thee this day. I pray our thanksgiving shall not be seasonal or
situational rather a long life of Christ in us.
Amazingly,
let’s keep the right disposition in our hearts for a genuine life of gratitude.
Therefore, we must beware of the dangers of ingratitude because it has enslaved
many destinies. Hence, it is a debt we owe God. Psalm
103: 1-2 Bless the Lord, O my
soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless
the Lord, O my soul, and
forget not all his benefits. So, you can discipline your heart to praise
God today. Remember, everything we are enjoying is by grace and we should avoid
entitlement mentality as to appreciate God the more. I pray we shall not
inflict ourselves with this self-curse by a life of ingratitude today in Jesus
name
PRAYER POINT:
1. Father, humble us and help us not forget the source of our
blessings in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Remember, you are
not self-made but grace sustained.
