Text: Galatians
2:20 (KJV)
I
am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in
me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son
of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me
Friends, the cross is the place of rebirth. So, seeing
our old personally which has been corrupted by sin, now, we have a new identity
in Christ Jesus because of the Cross as He exchanged His divine nature into us.
Yes, his death on the cross brought about new life, new heart, new personality with
new identity whereby we can boldly say Abba father. And this has given us
access to the inheritance that is in this kingdom. Therefore, the shame and
rejection over our lives are no more rather we carry a royal and chosen
identity because Jesus bought us back on the cross. And now we are a new
creature as old things are passed away. 2
Cori 5:17 Therefore
if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new. Wherewith, a transformation has
now taken place in our spirit, soul and body. So, shine in your new identity. Hence,
we now live a new life of acceptance and honour because of Jesus. Col.3:9-10 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the
old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in
knowledge after the image of him that created him
Amazingly,
we are now God’s masterpiece with new identity, hence the negative attitudes
that brought disgrace has been wiped away as our sin has been blotted out
because shame was nailed on the cross of Calvary. Howbeit, we have a peculiar and
priestly personality as believers. 1
Peter 2:9 But
ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar
people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
darkness into his marvellous light. So, let’s continue to unite deeply with Christ as to
enjoy the fullness that is in Christ Jesus. Praise God, we are who God says we
are as we loved and made a new in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINT:
1. Father, thank you for empowering
us with a new identity that reflects the character of Christ as the old has
been put off in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Remember, the old man
has been crucified on the Cross.
