A shelter in time of storm for our Nation

Text: Psalm 46: 1-2(KJV)

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.

Friends, as a nation we have a place of refuge as we are faced with storms in different areas like political instability, economic downturns, genocide, killings, insecurity, moral decline, injustice, disasters, or spiritual coldness. These storms often shake foundations and leave citizens anxious about the future. Psalm 127:1- Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. And Nigeria is not exceptional in a time like this. Our wisdom limits and storms are inevitable but the scripture above assures us that we have a place of safety in time of trouble. 2 Chronicles 20:15 - The battle is not yours, but God’s. Yes, God reveals Himself as a sure refuge, a present help, and a shelter that no storm can overwhelm. Just as Noah and his family were preserved in the ark while the world faced a flood, our nation Nigeria can be preserved if we return to build on righteousness and seek God’s mercy, today. Proverbs 18:10 - The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Amazingly, God doesn’t protect individuals only rather God shields nations if we turn our hearts towards Him. Remember, when systems fail, our God never fails. God’s sovereignty stands unshakeable. His protection is real. His mercy is available. Psalm 91:4-5 - He shall cover thee with His feathers… thou shalt not be afraid of the terror by night. His covering is unshakeable. I pray as a nation we shall look to Him as to find stability even when everything else looks uncertain. I encourage us as individuals and collectively as a nation to repent, to pray, and to humbly seek God, He shall steps in by His mercy this season in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT

Oh Lord, be a refuge to our nation as we hide under Your wings. I declare peace to our borders as mercy prevail over judgment as a shelter in every storm in Jesus name.

ACTION QUOTE: Remember, Nineveh was spared from destruction when the people turned to God. And we shall turn to God, too.
