Loving God wholeheartedly

Text: Mathew 22:37(KJV)

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind

·         Friends, we are in a distracted society where our love for God is no more rooted but they are made shallow by the day because of the overwhelming challenges of our time. Yes, it is important we develop the attitude of loving God with our heart which means we are God centered in our decisions and dreams. You are not looking back rather holding on with God. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. It is a total submission to God with our all. Which means we are giving Him the first place in our affections, decisions, and daily priorities. It is a love that affects how we think, how we live, and how we respond in every situation. Hence, we need true and absolute love for God and not partial commitment. Remember, our God desires our whole heart. Therefore, when we love God wholeheartedly, we don’t just say it with words; we show it through obedience, worship, and trust. Luke 10:27 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind.

Amazingly, this kind of love is rooted in gratitude for who God is and all He has done now and in the future. It is more than singing songs or attending church on Sunday without sacrificial trust from Monday.  So, as we deepen our intimacy with God, it shapes our character to the Christ-like nature of genuine love. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. Hence, wholehearted love pushes out fear, breaks the desire to please people, but aligns us with God’s purpose daily. Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart. It is important we make God everything as He is the first and final no matter the uncomfortable situation before us this season. I pray we shall fully surrender to God even in this season, in Jesus name.

 PRAYER POINT: 

Oh Lord, teach us to love God daily without reservation and in obedience as we choose God over the worldly compromise in Jesus name.
