Our Shield of Defense

 

Text:  Psalm 3:3(KJV)

But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

Psalm 5:12 For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

 

Friends, we are prone to attacks as long as we in this world. But, the good news is that we have a shield of defense that surrounds us from the arrows of the wicked. Yes, there are arrows that fly by day and night but God has placed a thick shield to protect us as His dear children. We have a security covering that blocks the weapons of the enemy against us. So, we have defensive mechanism that guards us from harm. Remember,the shield does not remove battles but God covers us in the midst of the fire. Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Interestingly, there are mysteries as weapons that God uses to keep us away from dangers. So, His shield covers, protects and grants us victory in all endeavours. So, our faith in God grants us the access to this ultimate protection that cannot be penetrated by the wicked. And he has given us guiding principles that defense us from either physical or spiritual attacks through His word. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.  Therefore, He keeps us safe from trouble even in midst of the storm. So, let’s hide ourselves under his canopy because there are spiritual battles that we cannot imagine no matter our sensitivity with our carnal mind. I encourage us to build a deep personal relationship with Him as we trust and obey his word today in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:

1.       Father, as I am surrounded by foes and betrayed daily, may the Lord’s shield of protection answer for me that will bring about peace unspeakable in Jesus name.
