Double of God’s hand

Text:  Isaiah 61:7(KJV)

Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be theirs

Friends, God is still in the business of doubling our blessings even into multiples as we align with Him. Isaiah 40:2 Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins. Yes, there is overflowing blessings and favour in this kingdom but we must be ready to obey and patiently work with the leading of the Lord for an exchange of shame to honour. From the scriptural text today, God is reassuring us His double hand for our confusion. He is speaking comfort and comfort again to all our cries and secret pains. So, we must build confidence that the seasons of our warfare are over because our iniquity is pardoned. We are now free to receive double in all kingdom promises. The principle of double portion as received by Elisha from Elijah is a vital need for a turn around. 2 Kings 2:9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee... And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And the double potion of the spirit made him to do miraculous wonders in his time.

Interestingly, the double hand of God is a mystery that brings about the miraculous as he multiplies His goodness in our lives. Job 42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. He takes away shame and replaces glory on every side. So, we can receive the double hand of God as we encounter Him with double honour, double joy, double favour, double peace etc that brings about comfort on every area of our lives. Hence, it is the release and the outstretch hand of God that brings about restoration, healing and deliverance. So, it is His double hand that brings about speed and acceleration resulting in overflow. I pray God will not just be restoring our loss but doubling our blessings in Jesus name.

1.       Oh Lord, by Your double agenda, turn our pain to purpose, our loss to abundance and weeping to dancing as you stretch forth your hand and release double blessings today in Jesus name.
