Right Affection

 

 

Text: Colossians 3:2-3 (KJV)                                             

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 

Friends, as human we have things that really thrill us and it is important we set our affections right. Unfortunately, many has placed their affections wrongly and that has led to many life delays and disorders. Math 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. So, God weighs our emotional feelings because if not controlled it will drift our hearts from the plan and purpose of God for our lives. But, when we decide to realign our affection with Godly values, this will help us to mirror God daily. So, let us invest in our spiritual growth for right living with lasting benefits.

Amazingly, so many things are fading away and that is why it is vital to put your affection on the things from above that will last for eternity. 1 John 2:15-16 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. Hence, we should not allow our minds to lust on the earthly things which will not last as they will rather bring about pride of life. Therefore, let our heart anchor in eternal things which makes us to love and seek God first beyond all desires. I pray we shall love God in return with right affections in Jesus name.

1.      Father, help us to value things that has eternal worth over temporary pleasures in Jesus name.
