Change in our Identity

Text: Act 26:13-14 (KJV)

13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. 14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Friends, the tangibility of a changed life is a clear evidence and validity of the gospel. I believe there has been many times that we struggled with our identity. Indeed, everything about the gospel is a transformation of our identity. From the scripture above, the story of Saul a Pharisee, a persecutor of Christian, opposed Jesus, he imprisoned believers, sentenced many to death, oppressed the believers but everything changed when he encountered Jesus on his way to Damascus. Therefore, that light is coming on your way and we shall no longer be slaves but child of God with new identity. John 1:12 -But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. The good news is that flesh is dead, Christ now lives in us with His upgraded personality. And today by God’s love, he is still rewriting the stories of men and women to His own glory.

Interestingly, after his encounter with Jesus, he was transformed from Saul the persecutor now to Paul the Preacher. Indeed, there was changes in the heart of Paul and there was a complete turnaround in all areas of his life.  2Cori.5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Infact, everything changed when he met with Jesus. There was a change of testimony, discovery of purpose. Clearly, Paul’s priority changed as he was adopted into God’s family. There is a radical change to a new man even in this generation, God is changing identities. The old life is gone and a new life has begun in our lives today in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:

1. Father, may we recognize the opportunity to share our conversion story that will be a turning point for someone out there in Jesus name.

ACTION QUOTE: Friends, God is still revisiting this generation for transformative encounters. Cheer up!
