Congratulations
and welcome to the month of December.
Text: Ruth 1:14-15 (KJV)
And
they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law;
but Ruth clave unto her. And she said, Behold thy sister in law is gone back
unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.
It is with sincere joy and thanksgiving that we have walked
into the month of December. Let’s express gratitude with our all. God did it
all and we must insist on giving Him thanks from the depth of our hearts. In our text of today, the scripture started
with adversity in the family of Elimelech, where Naomi and her daughter in laws
all lost their husbands, but at the end of the story, it concluded with a
glorious fulfillment all because of Ruth was cleaving to her mother in law. To
cleave is an attitude that turns shame and disgrace to glory. It is an act of
sticking firm and strong despite the circumstances ahead. Ruth left all to follow
Naomi, while her sister in law, Orpah kissed Naomi and turned, but she was
persistent. I encourage us to clave, no
matter all that you have gone through, by reflecting on the goodness of God
around us, so we can bless the Lord genuinely and don’t forget a single
blessing as he has wrapped you with love and tender care. 2 Chron:20:21b Give
thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love endures forever.
Interestingly, we are in a season of being intentional to
cleave with thanksgiving. It is an attitude we must cultivate as we reflect on
Gods faithfulness for all. His promises are ye and Amen. The bible declares in Psalm 65:11 “Thou crowned the year with thy goodness; and the
paths drop fatness. It is time to remember His daily loads of benefit as
long as you are currently in the land of the living. And we must reflect on the
unseen battles He has worn on our behalf as He has assured us Exo14:14 He will fight for and we shall hold our peace. Ruth
had a soul-tied attachment with Naomi, and this decision lead to her glorious
moment. Romans 8:35- Who shall separate us from the
love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or
nakedness, or peril, or sword? There are so many things in this world that
can separate one but insist on thanksgiving to God and man as along we breath
in Jesus name. So, I urge you to choose right, because there is glory ahead
just with thanksgiving.
PRAYER
POINT:
1. Father,
I thank you and may I continually offer sacrifice of praises because my heart
is fixed on identifying all your love and benefits that we are enjoying by your
grace in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE:
Friends, can you intentionally give God all the thanks ceaselessly and
uncountable this season?
