Text: Mathew 8:26-27 (KJV)
And he saith unto them, why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men marveled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and sea obey him!
If I asked you, have you ever experienced any wind or storms in your life? You will say yes, but if I asked you, have you ever rebuked that wind or storm? I wonder what your response would be. The terms “wind” and “storms” are used to symbolize chaos. The truth is we all face different types of wind or storms in our various fields of life on daily basis. It can be as small as a headache or as big as you have no place to sleep, but the fact still remains that we all have different gravities of challenges in life. Usually, there is no schedule attached to these storms, it just comes like that, but we have to be prepared, and to do that, we have to equip ourselves with the word of God. So we should ask ourselves the same question Jesus asked the disciples which is “WHY ARE WE FEARFUL?” It says in Exodus 14:14- The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
Certain times, those storms are allowed: (a) by God- because it is all for our experience and maturity (b) because they were activated by Satan, but the amazing part is that you will handle it by the authority given to you to rebuke the storm and not keeping quite (c) because we provoked it all by our attitude, the good part is that we have a way out, we just need to confess our sins and repent of our shortcomings. In all of those things or storms, the remedy and hope always Jesus, so always remember Him in those moments. 1 Peter 5:7- Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. So stop murmuring why me, instead speak to that storm because you have authority in your mouth. Do not keep quiet. Isaiah 26:3- Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. So I tell you, no matter the magnitude of that ugly situation, it will cease with great calmness in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Oh Lord, please increase our faith, so as to stand and rebuke every ragging storm around us, in Jesus name.
2. Father, we decree great CALMNESS in our life now even as the year runs to an end, in Jesus name.
3. Oh Lord, may we enjoy peace that is found only in you, in Jesus name.
Action Quote: Having Jesus on your boat silences all storms.
Thanks sir for the message of hope. I wish I could be getting a daily post of it.
