Text: 2 Timothy 1:13 (KJV)
Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
The wonderful part about Christianity is that, our encounter with Christ left us with something very tangible and it is sound and healthy words. This is why our text of today tell us to hold firmly and fast to the sound and true words which we have been taught, because it will help us heal people and not to demoralize them. The truth is there are a lot of unruly and vain people in our world of today, who aim at destroying people’s relationships; we must therefore be careful, so as to preserve the good thing which has been committed into our hands by God, knowing fully well that His spirit is dwelling in us and this can only be done by constantly dwelling on His teachings. Colossians 3:16- Let the word of God dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. I tell you, this beautiful gift needs to be preserved.
The truth is many believers have mixed their words with unruly words and this has devalued their worth. To some, they have lose their worth completely and to some they think this way of life is normal, but it is not meant to be so; so we need to therefore reshape and remold the kind of words that proceed out of our mouth. The word of God is filled with a lot of inspiring words and we need to hold fast to them. THIS KINGDOM HAS A LANGUAGE, and they are filled with sound words and not fowl words, so we must remember that. We just need to communion with Christ so as to hold tight to those beautiful words. Our words needs to be seasoned with salt, so that we can speak graciously as believers. Colossians 4:6- Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. Also in, Mark 9:50- Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. The amazing part is that our words have been touched by the Holy Spirit, thereby bringing sweetness to our conversation at all times. So never depart from His touch. Remember to always season your day, week, month, semester, year, life, and destiny with the right words. I pray God will help us, in Jesus name.
