Text: Luke 22:6 (KJV)
And he promised,
and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
The season we are in, as believers is a special one and we need to
understand our importance and be alert. The truth is, in our world of today, we
see a lot of betrayals and tragedies, and the most painful part is that
these betrayals come from the most unexpected people like our families,
friends, even our loved ones; this usually results in a lot of doubt, revenge,
and much more. Also, like Judas Iscariot who was one of the twelve apostles. These experiences are usually very difficult to forgive and forget,
but despite all of this, there is one thing that makes us not to take this
revenge and that is because we remember that we have a new heart and mind in Christ. In Jeremiah 17:9 - The heart is
deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? This verse makes us to understand that the hearts of men are wicked
and we can see evidences in our world. The truth is, people tend to go out of
their way to frustrate other people’s effort and plan, while some even wait
patiently and sought for opportunities to strike. Therefore, we need to be
sensitive. Remember,
during the meal of the last super, Jesus predicted that one of them will betray
Him. Judas Iscariot was consulted that they might take Jesus by subtle manner
to be killed. He was bribed with thirty pieces of silver as an exchange and he
identified him with a kiss and later turned him over to Pontius Pilate
soldiers. Mark 14:46 - And they laid their hands on him
and took Him.
Amazingly, who could even imagine that Jesus’ disciple will betray him
all for money? Literally, no one, but Judas proved he could do it. I hope we
are not betraying Him today? This makes us to understand that there is no
barrier or limit to betrayal. 2 Corinthians 2:11- Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we
are not ignorant of his devices. I tell you, my
fellow brothers and sisters, we should not be ignorant of the devices of the
wicked rather, we should be careful so as not to be a victim of their plans.
The devil is still influencing a lot of people as he entered Jesus’ disciple,
but we must remember we have God on our side and He can reveal and also cause
confusion in the camp of the wicked, all we just need to do is the cry out to
Him for direction and guidance. Always remember, it is never too late, you can
cry to Him now because He is listening to you in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINTS:
1.Oh Lord, help me not get to a point of regret for my actions and
begin to return when it too late, in Jesus name.
2. Father, please help us not be condemned in our innocence, even as
men prefer darkness instead of light, in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Have you been hurt by a
close associate? How did you manage it? Share with a friend.
