Look Back to Gain Strength

Text: Isaiah 51:1 (KJV)
Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.

Friends, in our journey of faith, there are moments when we feel discouraged. Hence, in such a time we need to learn to look back and not to dwell in the past, but to draw strength and perspective from your source. So, our rock is God himself, who is our foundation. It reminds us of where God has brought us from, the battles He has fought for us, and the victories He has already given. Therefore, reflecting on this build confidence that the same God who helped us before is still able to sustain us now. Deuteronomy 32:4 says He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. Looking at “the hole of the pit” is a reminder of our humble beginnings and the grace that lifted us. It keeps us grounded, grateful, and dependent on God. Psalm 40:2 says, He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock

Interestingly, when we remember our spiritual roots and God’s faithfulness, our faith is strengthened for present and future challenges. Hebrews 13:8 assures us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. This means His power has not diminished, and His promises still stand. Therefore, in times of weakness or uncertainty, take time to reflect on God’s past goodness. Let your history with Him fuel your hope and courage. As you do, you will stand firm, knowing that the Rock you came from is unshakable. And we shall stand unmovable in that storm in Jesus name.

Prayer Points:

  1. Oh Lord, help us to remember Your faithfulness in our past as to draw strength from them in Jesus' name.
  2. Heavenly Father, keep us rooted in You, our Rock, so we can remain steadfast in every season in Jesus' name.

Action Quote: Remember, where God brought you from, it is a pointer that you can gain strength for where He is taking you.

Strength in Times of Weakness

Text: Proverbs 24:10 (KJV)
If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

Friends, adversity in life is not a matter of “if” but “when” because life will inevitably bring unexpected seasons.  Hence, when we give a deep reflection of our inner strength, it reveals that difficult times do not weaken us, but rather expose the level of strength we truly have within. The “day of adversity” represents those seasons when things don’t go as planned, times of discouragement, delay, or hardship. So, fainting in such moments means losing courage, giving up, or becoming overwhelmed. However, God expects us to stand firm, not in our own power, but through His strength. Isaiah 40:29 says, “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength”. This shows us that our strength is not meant to come from ourselves alone, but we should rely on God. He can supply the strength we lack. Difficult situations are opportunities to build resilience, deepen our faith, and grow spiritually. James 1:2-3 reminds us - My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

Interestingly, being strong in adversity requires preparation before the storm comes. A life rooted in prayer, the Word, and trust in God builds spiritual stamina. When challenges arise, those who are grounded in God will not easily collapse. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Therefore, instead of fainting in tough times, we must lean on God, draw from His strength, and remain steadfast. As we do this, we become stronger, wiser, and more confident, knowing that no adversity can overcome us when God is our source. I pray God help us in our low moments in Jesus name.

Prayer Points:

  1. Lord, strengthen me in every season of adversity and help me not to faint no matter the heat in Jesus' name.
  2. Father, build my inner strength so I can stand firm in times of pressure in Jesus' name.

Action Quote: Remember, adversity does not break you but it reveals and strengthens you when you stand in God.

Trust that never fails

Text: Isaiah 26:4 (KJV)

Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.

Trust (confidently) in the Lord forever, For the Lord God is an everlasting Rock (the Rock of Ages) (Amp)

Friends, life will always present uncertainties, pressures, and challenges that can shake your confidence. So, we can see that storm is an integral part of life. Yet, the scripture above according to prophet Isaiah, gives us a powerful instruction to trust in the Lord forever. This is not temporary trust based on circumstances, but a continuous reliance and dependance on God.  Psalm 118:8 - It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. God is described here as the everlasting strength which means He is a rock that never weakens, changes, or fails. Though, human strength can fade, and worldly support will certainly disappoint, but God remains constant. So, when we anchor our trust in Him, we draw from a strength that never runs dry. Proverb 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Interestingly, our life of trusting God means depending on His wisdom to go through the process even when we cannot see the full picture of the plan. It requires us believing that His plans are greater than our fears and that His power is sufficient and more than enough for every situation we face. Jeremiah 17:7–8 – Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord whose hope the Lord is. He shall be as a tree planted by the waters and spreadeth out her roots by the river and shall not see when heat cometh….. Therefore, when we cultivate this lifestyle of trust, we experience peace, stability, and confidence, knowing that God is in control of that challenge before you from the past, present and the future difficulties in Jesus name.

Prayer Points:

  1. Lord, help me to completely trust You in every area of my life, even when circumstances seem uncertain in Jesus name.
  2. Father, strengthen my faith so that I rely on Your everlasting power and not on human strength in Jesus name.

Action Quote: Remember, when your trust is in God, your strength will never run out.

Great Increase in Him

Text: Genesis 26:13 (KJV)

And the man waxed great, and went forward and grew until he became very great.

The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy (NIV)

Friends, the outcome of a walk of obedience with God is a life of great increase. We can see from the scripture above that the result of God’s blessing on Isaac’s life was that he became very wealthy. His faithfulness and obedience led not only to multiplication in his fields which we saw hundredfold blessings that brought envy but also to personal growth and influence. He became great in wealth and reputation. Deuteronomy 8:18 - But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth that he may establish his covenant. This shows us that God gives you the power to get blessings, and it affects every dimension of our lives - spiritual, personal, family, and even material. Therefore, true greatness is not achieved by human effort alone; it is as a result of God’s favour combined with diligence and obedience. This is what makes us to become great and continue to grow greatly. Psalm 115:14–15 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children. Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.

Interestingly, as believers, when we honour God, trust Him, and remain faithful, He positions us to grow beyond our natural capacity. It is important we delight in Him as we are like that tree planted by the riverside. Proverbs 10:22 - The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it. Remember, growth may come in different forms like resources, opportunities, influence, or wisdom. But let’s be encouraged to always glorify God in our increase as He takes us to the mountain top and we shall also benefits others in Jesus name.

Prayer Points:

  1. Father, let Your blessing increase my life in every area and bring influence for Your glory in Jesus name.
  2. Lord, help me to remain faithful and humble as You make me great in Your sight in Jesus name.

Action Quote: Remember, God’s blessing doesn’t just multiply resources; it multiplies your capacity and impact.

The Blessing that multiplies

Text: Genesis 26:12 (KJV)

When Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him.

Friends, there is a blessing from God that makes rich and adds no sorrow but brings multiplication. The scripture today tells us the remarkable story of Isaac, who sowed during a difficult season and experienced extraordinary increase. Psalm 1:3 – The righteous shall prosper like a tree planted by the rivers of water. At the time, there was famine in the land, yet Isaac obeyed God and continued to sow. Instead of loss, God gave him a hundredfold harvest in the same year. This teaches us that God’s blessing is not limited by the national or global economy, hardship, unfavorable conditions, or difficult seasons. When God blesses the work of our hands, even a small effort can produce extraordinary results. Eccl.11:6 - In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

Interestingly, Isaac’s prosperity was based on God’s promise and did not come merely from farming skill but from divine favor and obedience to God’s instruction. It reminds us as believers that faithfulness, diligence, and obedience position us for God’s multiplication. 2 Cori.9:10 - Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness. So, no matter the situation around us, God still has the power to turn seeds into abundance. I pray our effort shall continue to multiply in every area of endeavour in Jesus name

Prayer Points:

  1. Oh Lord, bless the work of our hands and cause every seed that we sow to produce fruitful results to overflow in Jesus name.
  2. Father, help us to remain faithful and obedient even when circumstances look unfavorable in Jesus name.

Action Quote: Remember, when God blesses your seed, your harvest will exceed your expectation.

Live to Trust Him

Text: Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Friends, life situations often challenge our faith and confidence in God. It can appear confusing, uncertain, or even overwhelming. However, God calls us to place our complete trust in Him which means relying on His wisdom, power, and faithfulness rather than depending solely on our limited human understanding. Remember, God sees the end from the beginning and directs our paths according to His perfect will. Furthermore, trusting God requires surrendering our fears, worries, and personal plans into His hands. Many people struggle because they try to figure everything out by themselves. Yet God invites us to rest in His guidance and believe that He knows what is best for our lives. As we commit our ways to Him and acknowledge His authority, He promises to guide us and make our paths straight. When we trust God wholeheartedly, we experience peace and assurance even in uncertain times. Jere. 9:23: Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches.

In addition, true trust in God strengthens our faith and builds our relationship with Him daily. It helps us to remain steadfast during trials and confident in His promises. Psalm 37:5 says, Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. When we trust God fully, we move from anxiety to confidence because we know that He is in control of every detail of our lives. Therefore, let us cultivate the habit of trusting God with all our hearts. Whether in decisions, challenges, or future plans, place everything before Him in faith. As we trust Him sincerely and refuse to rely solely on our own understanding, God will guide us, strengthen us, and lead us into His divine purpose. I pray that the Lord will help us develop unwavering trust in Him so that our lives will always reflect His wisdom and direction in Jesus name.

Prayer Points:

  1. Oh Lord, help me to trust You with all my heart and not rely on my own understanding in Jesus name.
  2. Father, guide my decisions and direct my paths as I commit my life completely into Your hands in Jesus name.

Action Quote: Remember, trusting God completely brings peace to the heart and direction to the journey of life.

Give Cheerfully, not Grudgingly

Text: 2 Corinthians 9:7 (KJV)
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Friends, giving is not only about the gift but also about the heart behind the giving. God is pleased with a prepared and cheerful heart.  God desires that His children give willingly and joyfully, not out of pressure, compulsion, or reluctance. Therefore, let our giving come from a willing heart ready to honor God. When generosity flows from a cheerful spirit, it becomes an act of worship that delights God’s heart. True generosity reflects our trust in God as our source and provider. We acknowledge that everything we have comes from God by giving cheerfully, not grudgingly. Hence, a cheerful giver does not give with regret but with gratitude and faith that God will continue to supply. Proverbs 3:9–10 says, Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.  So, our honour and resources to God invites divine abundance, daily.

Furthermore, cheerful giving brings joy and spiritual fulfillment. When we give with the right motive, our hearts are filled with peace and gratitude as we do God’s work. Acts 20:35 reminds us that it is more blessed to give than to receive. The blessing goes beyond material rewards but strengthens our faith, builds compassion, and aligns us with God’s purpose. Therefore, let us cultivate the habit of cheerful giving with our all. It demonstrates our love for God and humanity. As we give willingly and faithfully, God multiplies what we sow and uses it to bless many lives out there. I pray that the Lord will give us hearts that rejoice in giving so that our offerings will always be pleasing to Him in Jesus name.

Prayer Points:

  1. Oh Lord, create in me a joyful and willing heart that gives cheerfully and honors You in Jesus name.
  2. Father, as I give with sincerity and love, multiply my seed and use my life as a blessing to others in Jesus name.

Action Quote: Remember, cheerful giving is not a loss; it is a joyful seed that produces lasting blessings.
