Unashamed by His Help

Text: Isaiah 50:7 (KJV)

For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

Friends, certain times situations happen to test and threaten our confidence and try to make us feel ashamed or defeated. But you are assured that you shall not be humiliated because God is your helper. However, let us remember with boldness that God is there to assist and help you, so, shame is not your portion. The scripture says that “the Lord God will help me.” This is not a wish, but a certainty. When God steps into a situation, He brings strength, support, and victory, so you are unashamed by His help.  Psalm 46:1 tells us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Because of this help, we are not confounded, meaning we are not put to disgrace, confusion, or defeat. No matter the opposition or challenge, God’s presence secures our standing. Romans 8:31 says, “If God be for us, who can be against us?”

Interestingly, the phrase “I have set my face like a flint” speaks of determination, focus, and unshakable resolve. It means refusing to give up or be distracted, even in the face of difficulty. This kind of boldness comes from knowing that God is backing you. Hebrews 13:6 says, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” Therefore, when you are assured of God’s help, you can move forward with confidence and courage. You will not be put to shame, because God Himself is committed to your victory. Therefore, let’s stand firm, stay focused, and trust in His help today, in Jesus name.

Prayer Points:

  1. Lord, be my helper in every situation, and deliver me from every form of shame in Jesus' name.
  2. Father, give me the courage to stand firm and remain focused, knowing that You are with me in Jesus' name.

Action Quote: Remember, when God helps you, shame loses its power over your life.
