Text: Mark 4:37-38 (KJV)
And there arose a great storm of
wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in
the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say
unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
Friends, many times we allow ego and self-confidence to push God aside. We rely on our conscience and personal wisdom until situations spiral out of control. In the account of the storm, the disciples struggled against the wind on their own. Meanwhile, Jesus was in the same boat who was calm and asleep. They carried Him, but they did not involve Him. It was only when the storm reached its peak and the boat was filled with water that they cried out to Him.The question is: Are we carrying Jesus in our boat but fighting our battles alone?
Interesting, the moment they called on the MASTER, everything changed. A master is one who has complete control. Jesus is our Master and He is fully in charge, regardless of how fierce the storm may look. But He must be invited to take control. To involve the Master requires absolute trust in His Lordship. He never fails.Psalms 73:26My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.By your strength, you will not prevail. The race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong. The Master is waiting for you to invite Him today in the storm before you. And I pray we shall no longer delay but beckon Him for our needs in Jesus name.
