A Willing and Teachable Heart

Text: Proverbs 12:1(KJV)

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.

Friends, it is important that we become open, humble, and ready to learn rather than resist instructions. The scriptures emphasizes that God honors those who are pliable in spirit and eager to receive His instruction that is loving His knowledge. So, a willing and teachable heart is one that seeks God’s guidance, respond to correction as well as grow in wisdom and understanding. You cannot view correction as criticism rather an opportunity for growth. Proverbs 9:9 says, Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning. Therefore, this is what we must do to demonstrate that willingness to learn is a hallmark of spiritual maturity.

Amazingly, our willingness involves action that means responding promptly to God’s call, obeying His instructions, and surrendering personal preferences. According to Psalm 25:4-5 Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation. This reflects a heart ready to listen and be molded by God’s will. Hence, it is a quick to hear attitude but slow to speak that align to God’s instruction. Therefore, with a teachable heart you are led rather than misled. So, you become wiser that brings about divine favour and unspeakable peace even in this season, in Jesus name

PRAYER POINT:

Heavenly father, cultivate in me a heart that is both willing and teachable as I apply humility to my life in Jesus name

ACTION QUOTE: Remember, you can accept correction and sought God’s guidance in every situation.
