The Potter and the Clay

Text: Jeremiah 18:4,6(KJV)

And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand.

Friends, as clay rest in the potter wheel, so we can also rest in God’s hand for our reformation. Yes, the potter shapes, molds and transforms the clay to the desired product that makes it fit for the Masters use. So, the creator of the universe who is the originator of our lives is in-charge of our all. Hence, we must learn to trust God. His sovereignty and His authority are unquestionable but dependable. We have to absolutely submit to Him as a dependable potter. He forms us as His creation according to His divine purpose. He has complete control over the clay, just as God has control over our lives. Isaiah 64:8 But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. Thus, where we are formless with beauty God remolds and shapes our destiny for His glory. Therefore, we need humility as a clay that passes through fire of life which makes us ready vessels for the master as He makes another better vessel with us.

Amazingly, where we have no direction or true purpose, God’s shaping influence controls our lives. I encourage us to yield to Him today and He will mold us into something beautiful and useful. Like Joseph the process made a governor out of him. Remember, it is the fire process that make us strong, durable and fit for use. We must learn to yield and trust God’s process, even when it’s uncomfortable or unclear. Romans 9:20-21 Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay...? They can be life challenges that will form our characters which prepare us as we submit to God as the potter and we are the clay today in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT

Father, help us to yield ourselves for your presses, refining process as to remove the impurity against our purpose in Jesus name.

ACTION QUOTE: Remember to remain strengthened at the fire of testing because His hand is capable of restoring us.
