Rooted in God’s Love

Text: Ephesians 3:17-18 (KJV)

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height.

Friends, how deep in your heart is your love for God? Yes, a heart rooted in God’s love stands firm, bears fruit, and reflects the beauty of Christ to the world. We can move to a new level of love for God that will grant us access to the breadth, length, depth and height in our walk with God. It is a heart firmly established which is anchored on God’s love. Like Abraham absolutely obeyed God with sacrifice. So, we are rooted in God to receive direction, draw strength, nourishment and stability for a productive living. Your love for God is a key that will give you direction to life. It is at this realm that we act and take action as commanded by the almighty. So, you can’t be self-driven if you are rooted in God’s love. Jeremiah 31:3  I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. I encourage us to build our foundation in God which is an unconditional love that is unshakeable. Therefore, it is important we remain unshaken even when trials threaten us, we must remember that our confidence is not in circumstances, but in God’s faithful love. Romans 8:39 Nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Amazingly, we must live out our belief by understanding His love that is shed on the cross to us all. Paul used the image of a rooted plant to show believers that just as roots secure and feed a plant, God’s love secures and nourishes our spiritual life, our body and our soul. Psalm 52:8 I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever. Hence, we can imagine a tree in a storm. If its roots are deep, it won’t fall. I pray we shall build our love today and forever enjoy all the benefits of His love. In the same way, when your heart is rooted in God’s love, you can overcome all the challenges before us now and even the future occurrence in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT

Father, empower us to forgive, to hope, to give, and to live with God confidence because there is full satisfaction in God’s love for every situation in Jesus name.

ACTION QUOTE: Remember, the harsh season cannot affect a rooted tree, so remain firm in God.
