The Gift of Gratitude

Text:  1Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 100:4-5 - Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations

Friends, it is exciting to walk into the last day of the month of October with a posture of gratitude in our hearts. Yes, we have to recount His goodness in our lives both the big and the small. It is important we choose gratitude over grumbling by keeping gratitude journals. Our hearts must be full of thanksgiving for the journey so far, as we declare the goodness of God in the land of living. Psalm 107:1 Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.  Let’s choose to be thankful in all circumstances as we focus on God’s good things in life and express gratitude to God and to others. Gratitude is a gift, and we will use it to bless others and glorify God today as to purchase the other expected desires. Hence, gratitude reminds us that what we have is enough when God is our source. So, as we shift our eyes from what is missing we can boldly say a big THANK YOU, today. Philippians 4:6: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Amazingly, we can learn to shift from complaints to contentment, and from worry to worship. Gratitude opens our eyes to God’s faithfulness and helps us see His hand in every situation. Remember, you can turn every season into a reason to praise God. Colossians 3:17: And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. It is a choice, an act of worship, and a spiritual gift that transforms the heart. I encourage us to invite joy and peace with a grateful heart which quiets anxiety and strengthens trust in God today in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT

Heavenly Father, we have come to thank you for all the past, present and unseen blessings as to build confidence in the future promises as our heart overflow with thanksgiving in Jesus name.

ACTION QUOTE: Remember, we can create an atmosphere of joy and praise with the gift of gratitude.
