Text: Luke 18:1-3
(KJV)
And he spake a parable unto them to
this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2 Saying, There was in a city a
judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3 And there was a widow in that
city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
Friends, we can get to a point in life where
we are confused on what to do and our faith in God is shaken. So, it becomes very
vital to develop an unwavering trust in God which makes us to remain persistent
in our belief. Even when the circumstance seem impossible, our faith must keep
knocking, keep believing and keep declaring the promise of God like the
scripture above about the widow woman. She sought justice and consistency paid
off. Matthew 7:7- Ask,
and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be
opened to you. Also, you don’t stop until you see the
evidence of the breakthrough and expected answers. In this case, we must learn
to pray again, hope again and stand firm again after many disappointments. Hence,
we can do this as we draw strength from the word of God to remain fervent in
our belief even where there is no visible result. But remember, persistent
faith is an unstoppable faith. Therefore, this kind of faith says, “Even
if it takes time, I will keep trusting God”. Galatians
6:9- Let us not become weary in doing good, for at
the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Amazingly, it is not a one off believe but a
continuous dependence on the faithfulness of God in your life. For instance, we
can see the persistent act of Hannah, despite the mockery from her mate, she
still poured her heart to God for a son even at Shiloh - Samuel. Also, Abraham
believed God until he fulfilled His promise of Isaac with several years of
delays. Romans 4:20 - He did not waver
through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his
faith. So, we should build confidence in the capacity of God and believe
God for the miraculous which cannot fail despite the delays. Therefore, let us learn
to trust God’s timing in our expectation today in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINT:
Heavenly Father, teach us to keep knocking even when the doors are
closed because surely God will do it at the set time in Jesus name.
ACTION
QUOTE: Remember, persistent faith doesn’t quit but prays until something happens.
So, don’t give up today.
