A Heart of Wisdom

   

Text: Psalm 90:12(KJV)

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom

Friends, we are in a season where our hearts need to be circumcised by God. So, a heart of wisdom is the heart that is shaped by God’s Word, guided by the Holy Spirit, and has its focus on eternity.  It is a precious gift with purposeful living. The person is moved by the word of God through the leading of the Spirit of God at all times as he is not carnally minded. Proverbs 2:6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. It is more of a person who has understanding of life from God’s perspective by making choices that reflects humility towards purpose for eternal gain. It is in such a wisdom that we live right even in this complex world. This lives us with a life of forgiving quickly, loving deeply, serving faithfully, and obeying God’s voice at all times. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Luke 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. And we can learn from our role model, today.

Amazingly, such a heart of wisdom does not just know what is right, but walks in it. It’s about valuing time, relationships, and the truth as God does. James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally. So, such wisdom begins when we realize how short life is and how important it is to maximally use our time well. And many men of old engaged in such wisdom like the wise administrator - Joseph, the wise builder – Nehemiah, Solomon etc.  I pray God will help us as we ask with the help of the Holy Spirit in prayer for a heart of wisdom that we will value God’s will above all things in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT: 

Father, teach us to allow God to guide our thoughts, actions, and priorities as we live each moment with eternity in mind in Jesus name.
