Text: James 1:23-25(KJV)
For
if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding
his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way,
and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of
liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of
the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Friends, we must learn to see the word of God as
the mirror in which we behold to become. Hence, in a normal day, we get
confirmation to our personality through the view point of a mirror which builds
confidence in us after our make-up. Therefore, it is important we reflect on a
daily basis our lives with the mirror of the word. Yes, Christ is our mirror
and he transforms us from inside and out as we keep gazing on His word though
not in a glance. So, the more we look into His word, the more clearer we gain
direction into His will and plan for our glorious future. Therefore, we are
polished as we keep stirring at Him through His word. Beholding is more than a
quick glance, it is a steady gaze. So spend some time today looking
into God’s Word as a mirror. Don’t rush away today. 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face
beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image
from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Interestingly, we begin to resemble Christ and
become like him both in nature and in His image as keep beholding. In this
mirror of His word, we see others and God’s truth that makes us to live at
peace with our world. 1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we
see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but
then shall I know even as also I am known. Remember, transformation is
not instant but progressive as we move from glory to glory as His nature is
rubbed on us again and again. So, regular beholding reveals himself which
strengthens us for a transformed outcome. I pray we shall continue to gaze
deeply until we are changed in Jesus name
PRAYER POINT:
Oh
Lord, let my thoughts, words, and actions reflect Jesus to the world around me
as I keep looking into the mirror of God’s word in Jesus name
