Joint Heirs with Christ

 

 

Text: Romans 8:16-18 (KJV)                                             

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Friends, our Sonship with Christ grants us access to heavenly gain which is our eternal hope even here on earth. So, we have been adopted into the family of God which qualifies us to the benefit of His inheritance that makes us joint heirs with Christ. Therefore, we now have a legal right that grants us the privileges in this kingdom of God. Gal. 4:7 Therefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. There is a progression in our relationship with the father. It is a spiritual truth that we must embrace in Christ as believers. Let’s live each day with is this confidence that we are now heirs of the kingdom by accepting Jesus as Lord. Hence, there is a prepared inheritance in Christ as we walk with the consciousness of His promises.

Interestingly, the access Jesus has with the father, now extends to us as heir of His kingdom. We now have unlimited benefit with the fruit of the spirit. 1 Peter 1:3-4 He has caused us to be born again to a living hope...to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.  So, we are not just in Christ rather we are brought into the family with legal rights to access the kingdom benefits. And these inheritance include God’s presence, peace, power, mighty etc. So, we are now His beloved children, joint heirs and kingdom citizens. I pray we shall not forget our new identity as joint heirs with the father in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:

1.      Father, help us to be a co-heir by suffering with Christ as to enjoy the benefit in the kingdom in Jesus name.
