A lIfe of Meditation

 

Text: Psalm 119:99-100 (KJV)

I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.

Friends, we must learn to move into the realm of intimacy with Jesus for greater accomplishment with stress. Meditation is lifestyle that renews our minds the most which helps us to grow into Christ in all things as it has physical, mental and spiritual benefits. Yes, for us to exchange our thought and reasoning for better understanding, we have to exchange our old nature filled with negative thoughts to a new nature by transforming our minds from the custom of this world into the image of Him through a life of mediation. Hence, meditation is rehearsing, thinking and pondering about things until it becomes real to you. And the word of God is that one truth we must train ourselves to meditate upon daily. You can actively do it consciously or unconsciously until it becomes part of you and cause you to act in that manner. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. In such a case, frustration is reversed as we live a life of meditation of the word which is a lamb to our feet.

Amazingly, what you mediate on forms part of your thoughts and content of action and which ultimately reflects who you are and what you become as it goes beyond reading the bible. Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Therefore, we must avoid the overwhelming of our minds with anxiety, distractions and endless information that is flooding our society today. But, I pray we shall rather carry God’s truth in our hearts as to ponder right and pure thought for a productive living in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:

1. Father, transform my mind and deepen my relationship with God as I cultivate the art of mediation in all I do in Jesus name.
