Ask for wisdom

 

Text: James 1:5-6 (KJV)

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Friends, it is important to be sincere to the subject of wisdom because we are in the world littered with knowledge in all areas of life, but unfortunately the world still lack wisdom in its reality. Let’s learn to prioritize wisdom, and every other things shall be added to us. Proverb 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Therefore, the need for wisdom cannot be overemphasized because it is needed in all our getting. Hence, wisdom is not knowledge rather it is the right application of knowledge in all situation. Yes, until what we know is correctly applied, we cannot get the desired result. There is no school with the curriculum of wisdom, rather it comes directly from above. Proverb 2:6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. You must not assume you have it because many are using their skills and experiences but there are situations you cannot handle with all you know. So, let’s rely from the divine source.

Interestingly, we are so exposed to knowledge but not wisdom, so we must endeavor to apply them to relevant issues of life for a productive living which comes from the word of God.  We have the privilege to ask God today. Therefore, we must learn to ask for the process and not just the product because many are using other types of wisdom like intellectual, earthly, occultic etc but with different limitations. 1 Cori.3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. I pray we shall always ask not in wavering but in faith because God gives liberally to all in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:

1.       Father, help us to always show wisdom out of our good conversation with the application of meekness  as derived from God’s word in Jesus name.
