Confronting two opinions

 

Text: 1Kings 18:21 (KJV)

And Eiljah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two onions? If the Lord be God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him nothing

Friends, we are in the world where our faith is being confronted daily and we must declare who we truly and sincerely believe at that difficult moment. Indeed, it is in the face of trials that we proof our believe. Today, many are serving different gods based on the current life challenges. Do we bow to other gods and look out for the alternative sources to our answers because of life challenges? But, for Joshua when he was faced with the same situation, he declared Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were in the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell” but as for me and my house: we will serve the Lord. We need to be resolute on the god to follow because in the midst of the storm there is tendency to waver in our believe.  So, let’s build our faith before the trials just Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the Kings meat. And today, can we see men with rugged faith?

Amazingly, for Elijah he declared even if he is the only one left as the prophet, he will still stand for the Lord.  Therefore, we can make fear to disappear and boldness to be instilled in that problem time, like Elijah, thereafter, when he declared to the people, they did not answer him rather they needed a sign. And the question is, can we still remain on God’s side when all the crowd back up to worship Baal?  Do we wait to see a proof just like the children of Israel call the name of their gods and Elijah called the God that answers by fire. And we can see the result at the end. I pray we shall be patient to follow and wait on the living God in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:                                                                                                                                                                                

1.       I pray we shall not serve a god that will not answer us in the furnace of life because it cannot hear, see or respond just like Baal in Jesus name.
