And
the king appointed them a daily provision of the king’s meat, and of the wine
which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they
might stand before the king.
Friends, God’s is still supplies daily provisions for our
promotion, and all we need is to go buy His appointment and not man’s dictate. Have
you ever noticed that there is an appointment that one gets that takes them to
the palace in a triumphant way? Yes, it
is an all funded appointment in which all our needs are being met. But, we have
a responsibility as to enjoy the full package. According to Daniel 1:8- But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would
not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which
he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not
defile himself. And God brought
him unto favour and tender love and this is what distinguished them from their
counterparts and singled them out for elevation and honour. The goodnews is
that their faces and their countenance appeared fairer and fatter than all that
eat the portion of the king’s meat as the requested to eat pulse.
Amazingly, we should be careful with certain offers of
appointment because it might make us compromise our choices, values and our
associations which in turn would affect our faith, but in the case of Daniel,
he decided not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, which was a good
decision. They refused to be contaminated and not deny their belief in God but
were exempted. Indeed, this decision made them to be separated and were even
equipped with the unique ability that made them stand out at the end of the
three years because Psalms 75:6- For promotion cometh
neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. So,
remember God is the lifter of men, so when we settle with God we can be
reassured of appointment and promotion in Jesus name
PRAYER POINT:
1. Father, qualify us by your grace and
standards, so that we can be positioned for greatness and honour and not by
self-appraisal, in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Remember to boldly say ‘NO’ to appointments with demotion undertone in our faith journey.
