Text: John 14:27 (KJV)
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
It is evident to us that there is a scarcity of genuine peace in our world of today; the reason for this is numerous, but the greatest of all is that we are worried or anxious about the future. This attitude of worrying is allowed to happen, but it is not meant to take a hold of us. It says Matthew 6:34 (NIV) - Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. We, as children of God, have been given a great privilege and that is the gift of peace. Even when Jesus was in this world and when He left, what He wanted everyone to have was perfect peace and the God that we serve is a God of peace. Romans 15:33- Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen. But we have failed to enjoy this gift because we let our troubled mind take a hold of us. The word of God is full of gospel of peace and we are meant to utilize it.
One mistake we make is that we compare ourselves with the world’s pattern of life and it is not meant to be so, it is actually meant to be the opposite. The truth is we are in this world but not of it, so always remember that difference. The world should see your experience of perfect peace and should want to experience it and not the other way around. The peace we are experiencing is not absent of challenges, but it is the one in which you are calm despite your troubles and this is because you have full assurance in God. To be frank, this peace cannot be explained, you just need to experience it, so I urge you to settle for this unspeakable peace and see your life turnaround.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Oh Lord, may I experience and embrace the peace that passeth all human understanding, in Jesus name.
2. Oh Lord, may I encounter this wonderful concept that God is a God of peace in reality, in Jesus name.
Action Quote: This is part of our inheritance and it can do unspeakable things.
