The Good Fight

 

Text: 1 Timothy 6:12 (KJV)

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Our calling is not just to have faith in God, but we are to hold onto eternal life because it is a PROFESSION we must stick to the end. Various versions of our text above illustrated profession in different ways, many called it a confession, and this makes us think. Before you can profess or confess about something, don’t you think you should have some experiences? In a race, victory is not dashed to every participant; there have to be several practice exercises before coming out on the limelight and becoming a champion. You have to strive to win on the battlefield of life.  It is not in the look or size of who you carry but the size of who is inside of you for a battle to be won.  James 2:17- Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.  In our scripture above, we are told to fight a good fight of faith, but we must have experienced defeat various times before now.  Friends, those defeats should have taught us some lessons on the mistakes we made, but we are soldiers of Christ with a weapon that makes us have victory, which is our faith in Christ, and we are meant to use it to survive in this world. We need to recreate our WORLD with our WORD for a better image formation as to win in the face of adversity.

The question is, how do you fight? This fight is not a physical battle, rather it is the one you fight with your belief, and with a positive and bold confession. And it is a good fight because the battle is won already by our saviour as we are fighting from the winning side. In this fight, you win it even before exchanging blows, and that is because you have faith.  Matthew 17:20- And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. In the wrestling ring, the opponent usually intimidates the counterpart as they are coming into the battlefield with a lot of gimmicks displayed into the ring. They talk with authority, and that is how they win, so I urge you not to live and fight with that fear, but instead have confidence and speak positively into your battle. I pray God will make you win, in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINTS:

1.Oh Lord, may I wake and sleep with a bold mindset that I can make it no matter the fierce battle, in Jesus name.

2. Lord Jesus, may I not be intimidated with fear by the threatening voice of the opposition, in Jesus name.

3. Father, may I always see the glory ahead to persist on that battle for my victory, in Jesus name.

ACTION QUOTE: Do not allow the looks of the opposition to intimidate you.
