Be Heavenly Minded

 

Text: Colossians 3:1-2 (KJV)

¹If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.² Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Many people are only concerned with today or what the future holds for them (literally earthly things), but as believers, if that is where all our hope is on, then we are the most miserable.1 Corinthians 15:19 - If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. We as God’s children should learn to live our lives with the mindset of eternal life, which is with Christ in Heaven and not with the earthly mindset. The truth is, all the enjoyment anyone can get in this world will definitely pass away because they are all temporary pleasures, but the glory ahead which we should all look towards is greater and better than these current pleasures. 1 John 2:17 (GNT) - The world and everything in it that people desire is passing away; but those who do the will of God live forever.

The truth is, you setting your mind on Heavenly things will result in you getting persecutions, but I encourage you not to get discouraged because the glory ahead is better. Although there will still be persecutions, God will definitely make way for you, and He will provide your daily needs, which are His promises to you.  Proverbs 30:8 (ERV) - And don’t make me too rich or too poor—give me only enough food for each day. Be reminded that whenever the problems of this world try to overwhelm you, always remember your eternal inheritance. Also, remember, God has a bigger picture for you, so do not worry.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, please help us to depend on You even in this current world, so as not to be too busy only planning temporarily in Jesus name.

2. Father, may I be eternally minded and never miss out on the glory set before me, in Jesus name.
