Faith in the furnace

 

Text: Daniel 3:14 (KJV)

Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?

In life, there are different intensities or levels of a furnace. It can be extremely hot or mildly hot; it can even be a cool one for you; it all depends on the individual. A furnace is an enclosed container that is usually used for burning garbage so you can imagine; it will always be hot. Certain times, we throw garbage into this furnace while some garbage mistakenly flies into this furnace due to the wind. The same goes for us. Sometimes, we walk into the furnace ourselves, and sometimes we are pushed into it, but the main question is, what are you doing in that furnace that you are in? Are you just crying and saying there is no hope, or are you taking advantage of that situation (like making good use of it)? The three Hebrew boys from our text made good use of that situation they were in. The situation did not move them; instead, they held on their faith in God and allowed Him to show up.

The truth is God is always on our side; we just need to call Him to show up in our situation (furnace), so as to turn it into a miracle. The men in our text served God in that furnace, and God showed up. The amazing part is that He even showed up physically. Daniel 3:25- He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. The greatest testimony is that these Hebrew boys came out of the furnace unharmed; it even got to the point that there was no smell of smoke on them. Daniel 3:27- And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them. Isn’t God wonderful? The same testimony is coming your way, in Jesus name. If you remember, all these boys did was to have faith and confidence in God and answered, “We are not careful to answer thee in this matter.” So I urge you to do the same, just have faith in Him and see that furnace you are in turn to a testimony.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, thank you for the presence of the fourth man in my situation in Jesus name.

2.Father, please help me always to know that our God is able to deliver and rescue no matter the extreme heat of the furnace, in Jesus name.

3. Father, please turn every hot situation I am in right now to testimony and help me to come out unhurt, in Jesus name.
