Text: Luke 9:62 (KJV)
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
We all have the nature of holding onto
memories, but the question is, must we hold on to those memories that are
hurting us? The answer is yours. The truth is, you can decide now not to cage
yourself in those hurtful memories, and this can be done by forgetting the
former things and not to dwell on them. Unfortunately, this is a very common
mistake made by many, but we can rise now to change that. It is never too late.
It says in Isaiah 43:18- Remember ye not the former
things, neither consider the things of old. We often regret our past and
refuse to forgive ourselves, but it is high time we look ahead and see our
glorious future. There is an assurance that there are so many new and better
things unfolding in our favour. So do not hold on to those memories, but
instead, look ahead. Philippians 3:13- Brethren, I
count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those
things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.
Due to those
past experiences, many of us have been crushed because of people’s behavior
toward us. For some of us, it even got to the point that we made a horrible
decision about life. It is bound to happen because we are human, but I urge you
to do the opposite today. Remember, it is never too late for a change. We must
always remember, we have God on our side, and He has promised never to leave
you or forsake you, so walk with that confidence. Just dust those memories of
you and move on. The truth is that it will be hard or difficult, but just trust
God to heal you of that broken heart. Always remember that you are new in
Christ. 2Corinthians 5:17- Therefore if any man be in
Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things
are become new. Do not forget that we are crucified with Christ, that
old person in you is buried with Christ on the cross. IT IS CALLED YOUR OLD
VERSION. Remember, you are living by
faith in Christ. Beloved, Any time Satan wants to take you back to
your vomit, remind him of his own future by loudly declaring, “depart and get
out from me, you are worthless and good for nothing”. Also,
always remember that the bible is there to help you. I pray God will help us,
in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINTS:
1.Father, please help me to develop the attitude of not dwelling on the negative past, so that I can run with ease, in Jesus name.
2. Oh Lord, please purge and purify me inside and outside so as to see the new and future me, in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: What are you still holding against that your friend? Do you
know he/she has moved on?
