The Little Foxes

Text: Song of Solomon 2:15 (KJV)

Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

I once met a girl who was very intelligent and hard-working, but she had a default habit of never being punctual to any meeting, which caused so many havoc in her life that she missed several important engagements. She was so frustrated when she lost a very good job interview in her life. She never realized this habit was the hindrance to her testimony until she had an encounter with God.

As Christians, we have the great opportunity of being fruitful, and we are chosen to bear fruits. We are made in God’s image, and this privilege helps us to multiply and bear tender grapes. Unfortunately, the sweetness of grapes calls for attraction from pests, which are destructive animals that attack the juices of the grapes. We are surrounded by things which always come to waste or devour our product, but we must be vigilant enough to identify them, so as not to be a victim to them. Matthew 8:20- And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. As God’s branch attached to the vine, we ought to bear much more fruits, but some limitations pose as hindrances. It can either be natural or man-made, but they emerge so as to fight your output. Truthfully, these little foxes aim at causing destructions, such as gossip, jealousy, bitterness, stubbornness, envy, stress, lies, laziness, procrastination, exaggeration, etc., but you just need to identify which is yours and deal with it now. These little foxes pose to be a part of you, and they try to adapt to any environment, but the fact remains, they are not meant to be there. We just need the help of God in guiding our vineyard, so that our vineyard does not appear broken or dead. I tell you, my sisters and brothers, it is really amazing to know that we are that vineyard. We need to stay healthy so that our harvest can be fruitful.

For us to enjoy the harvest and the sweetness of the vine, we need to uproot those foxes which aim at spoiling and delaying our sweet product. It says in John 15:2- Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. It may seem like those little attitudes do not matter now, but we need to lay them at God’s feet so that they will not weigh us down while running. We just need to declare the Word of God over those foxes, so DO NOT KEEP QUIET. If you do all these things, you will experience a turnaround in your communion with the Holy Spirit. I pray God will help us, in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Oh Lord, I receive boldness to silence every strange habit around me to give way, in Jesus name.

2. Help me Lord to create an atmosphere with the Holy Spirit that will make the negative attitudes not to survive in Jesus name.

ACTION QUOTE: Can you remember what made you lose that last opportunity? It could have been those little foxes.
