Involve the MASTER
Text: Mark 4:37-38 (KJV)
And
there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it
was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow:
and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
Many at times, man’s ego, make us depend so much on their conscience
and leave God until the matter gets out of hand. In our text of today, we see
that the disciples were fighting the wind by themselves until it got to a point
when the storm reached its peak, and the ship was filled with water before they
got Jesus involved. The funny part was that Jesus was on that ship, he was so
calm and was sleeping, but they did not involve Him in their situation. The
question we should ask ourselves is: Are
we carrying Jesus in the boat and fighting the battle by ourselves? Furthermore,
we can see that it was until they called and involved the MASTER that was when
the situation changed. The MASTER in this context means someone who is in
complete control over something. Jesus is our MASTER, and he is in total
control despite the situation it may be. Jesus is with us, but are we just carrying Him in our ship, or are
we inviting Him to be the MASTER? Or has
the wave gotten to its peak where our efforts are no more relevant, and there
is no more alternative?
For you to have the MASTER involved, you need to have
absolute trust and confidence in His Lordship. He is in charge and a perfect
professional in any field it may be. He is the Master over that issue; you just
only need to recognize him as your MASTER, who will never fail. Psalms 73:26- My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the
strength of my heart, and my portion forever. Jesus is just waiting for
us to involve him. For by your strength, just know that you will never prevail;
the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, but time and chance
happen to them all. Have you already arrived at that point where you have no
other alternative? It is never too late, so just wake up the MASTER in your
boat. He is not far fetch but just by you.
Ask yourself: At what
point do I involve the Master? Is it at the take-off or at a full-wave storm? The
best part about God is that there is no late hour with Him. In John11:11-
These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, our friend Lazarus
sleepeth; but I go that I may awake him out of sleep. It has already
been four days since Lazarus was in the grave, but the MASTER still showed up
and brought him back to life. No matter how long that situation has been called
dead, just involve Him and see it rise again. Remember, do not start a journey
alone and get stranded before you involve Him in it, but instead, let us always
walk with Him at all times.
PRAYER POINTS:
1) Father, help us to subdue self-wisdom
in the battles of our lives but learn to depend on the Master in Jesus name.
2) Holy Spirit, please open our eyes to
see the presence of the Master in the issues of our lives, in Jesus name.
3) Oh Lord, may this full-wave we are
going through now obey the voice of the Master, “Peace, be still” in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Is the Master present, and you are still struggling alone all
by yourself?
