The Wisdom of Joy
Text: Joel
1:12 (KJV)
The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth;
the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the
trees of the field, are withered: because Joy is withered away from the sons of
men.
Have you realized that in our society of today, Joy is
withering, or should I say fading away? The reason for this is because most people
find Joy in many worldly things, instead of in Jesus, which is very sad. People
mostly cry in secret, and the funny part is that God sees it all. We have a
great privilege in Him, but we can only experience this if we understand the
concept behind the wisdom of Joy and learn how to activate Joy as a fruit of the Spirit. Joy is one of the fruits we bear as
we walk and are led by His spirit. It is a benefit we freely enjoy in Him and we
can all use in these current situations, pains, and afflictions of life. In the
world of today, all that the world put their hope on has dried up. Even the top
nations are experiencing the same. The truth is that when your Joy is attacked,
every other thing begins to dry up, but that is not the same with those who
find Joy in God; it is the complete opposite. Joy is a divine virtue, and we must
learn to create an environment where we can express our Joy in either singing,
dancing, praying in known or unknown tongues, or the word. Psalms 30:5b- Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy comes
in the morning. The kind of Joy we are talking about is very special,
and it is not the one you experience when your bank account is fat or whatever
the case may be. This kind of Joy, is the one when you wake up, and you ask
yourself - Why am I so joyful? Even when there is nothing in my account or
nothing unusual has happened. This kind of Joy can only be experienced if you
have access to Jesus. It is contagious; it is even more contagious than any
virus of this world. It can flow to those who are around us, only if we allow
it. It is an in-flow of the presence of his spirit. This kind of Joy is not MOTIVATIONAL,
but it is ACTIVATIONAL, and it can cure and give strength to any situation of
life. Nehemiah 8:10b- For this day is holy unto our
Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the Joy of the Lord is your strength. We can
only have access to this strength if we are connected to the source of Joy,
which is Jesus; we need to desire it.
The things of this world can wither and fail you, but when
your source is from God, it can never dry up or wither, so learn to tap from
that great source of Joy. We have to activate this ceaseless Joy even when
there are no proofs or any special event around us. We have a part to play by
being His mobile church as a carrier of his presence. Psalms
16:11- Thou shall shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of Joy;
at thy right hand, there are pleasures for evermore. We will experience now
that our Joy has been tested this season of life, but do not watch it wither or
fade away; we must activate God’s presence, to stop our Joy from drying up. We
must also learn to apply the wisdom of Joy. This is our covenant inheritance in
this kingdom, and it is our new way of living because it is not based on the
happenings but on whom we carry and represent. Once this is activated, the
other fruits of the Spirit begin to shine. This is an all-round experience, and
we shall all enjoy it even in that tunnel we are facing, in Jesus name. So,
remember, your situation is changing now, and testimony will spring forth
because of this everlasting Joy we are experiencing in Him.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father,
please may our Joy not wither in this season despite all the negative
happenings in the world and news in the media, in Jesus name.
2. Father,
please fill us with an unspeakable joy from on high, in Jesus name.
3. Father,
we declare that this is our morning of Joy, and every secret tear comes to an
end by your grace, in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Is your Joy
activated in Him or are you waiting for a special event to happen around you
before you express Joy?
