Appointment for Triumph

Text: Daniel 1:5 (KJV)
And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king’s meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.
Have you ever noticed that there is an appointment that one gets that takes them to the palace in a triumphant way? This palace is a place of noiseless breakthrough, where your efforts are not needed. In this place, life is beautiful and it has every good thing available. According to our text, we can see that this appointment qualified them for enough benefits and promotion packages, but they had to choose between their faith or following the king’s pattern of things. The best part is that we are qualified by Christ, so our labours are not needed.
Daniel 1:8- But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. We should be careful with certain offers of appointment because it might make us compromise our choices, values and our associations which in turn would affect our faith, but in the case of Daniel, he decided not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, which was a good decision. Daniel was so conscious because he did not want to get contaminated and deny his belief. He declared that he wanted to be exempted and sought for permission not to eat the king's meal. This decision made them to be separated and sensitive and they were even equipped with the unique ability to stand out at the end of the three years.
Psalms 75:6- For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. We have to remember that sustainable lifting truly comes from God. You can get to the top by your connection, but how long can you survive or continue to stand before the king. We need to be wise, so that we can inherit the glory because many have ended in shame or should I say have died because of a new appointment, so be careful. We should not entangle ourselves with unclean things but we should be sensitive to understand the other side of the coin because the bitter side is never visible since it is usually coated with sweetness. We should learn to discipline ourselves before getting into new positions, so that we do not ruin our integrity and personality. Daniel and his friends separated themselves from the unclean things to avoid corruption and compromise. We should avoid things that will pollute our spirit in the name of appointment for triumph. We should not judge things outwardly only, but instead, consider if there could be a contradiction to our belief. We must learn to look at things from both God and the human perspective because not all that glitters is gold. We hear a lot of new levels, next levels, new locations, but where is it taking one to; so let us humble ourselves to understand the purpose of an appointment because in some cases, there is an undertone for disgrace and demotion down the line. So, always remember to read between the lines.
PRAYER POINTS:
1.       Father, qualify us by your grace and standards, so that we can be positioned for greatness, in Jesus name.
2.       Oh Lord, equip us with unique and special ability so that we can stand before the kings in our field, in Jesus name.
3.       Oh Lord, change us inside and outside to be a vessel that will commune with the king with solutions to help others, in Jesus name.
