God's Word Never Fails

Text: 2 Kings 1:16–17 (KJV)

And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken.

Friends, God's Word is absolute, trustworthy, and unchanging. Hence, always remember what God said He will do, He is more than capable to do so, even abundantly. So, every promise He makes and every warning He gives you will surely come to pass. For instance, King Ahaziah ignored God's instruction and rejected His authority, yet God's declared judgment was fulfilled exactly as spoken through the prophet Elijah. This reminds us that God's Word is not merely advice to consider but truth to obey at all times.  Yes, God's Word is not meant to be weighed by human reasoning but obeyed in faith.  Isaiah 55:11 declares that God's Word will not return to Him void but will accomplish the purpose for which He sent it. His word goes out for a mission and nothing can stop it even when there is delay and obstacle on the way, it will certainly come to pass. Today, I encourage us never to despise His word because it is a promise that will not fail. Likewise, Numbers 23:19 assures us that God is not a man that He should lie or change His mind. What God says, He faithfully performs.

Surprisingly, we see a lot of people doubt God's promises because answers do not come immediately, while others disregard His warnings because judgment is not instant. However, God's timing never alters His faithfulness. Matthew 24:35 - Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Therefore, build your life upon His Word, trust His promises, and obey His commands without compromise. As you stand firmly on the truth of Scripture, God will fulfill every good promise concerning your life and establish you in His unfailing faithfulness in Jesus' name.

Father, may your strength of faith remain on us to trust and obey Your Word completely and help us to stand on Your promises and live according to Your truth every day in Jesus' name.
