Faith Takes Courage

Text: Joshua 2:2-4 (KJV)

4.And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:

Friends, when Joshua sent two spies to Jericho, they found refuge in Rahab's house who was a known Harlot in the city as they lodged there. But, Rahab's faith changed the course of her life and family.  Although Rahab lived in a city opposed to God, she chose to protect God's servants at great personal risk by reason of divine agenda. Her actions demonstrated that genuine faith is courageous despite all odds. She believed that the God of Israel was the true God, and her faith moved her to act despite the danger before her. Hence, God honours those who trust Him, regardless of their past. Therefore, one act of faith can lead to a lifetime of God's favour and purpose. Hebrews 11:31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

Amazingly, faith is more than agreeing with God's truth but it is trusting Him enough to obey, even when obedience is costly and risky. Like Rahab, we may face situations where standing for God requires courage. James 2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? So, when we choose faith over fear, God is able to accomplish His purposes through us. Therefore, true faith is revealed by courageous obedience. If I may ask: Am I willing to stand for God, even when it is difficult or unpopular? As we sincerely respond to this vital question, God will help us to step into courage through our faith in Jesus name.

Prayer Point:

Heavenly Father, give me the courage to trust You in every situation as I stand boldly for what is right. May my life reflect unwavering confidence in Your promises in Jesus' name, Amen.

Action Quote: Remember, faith is proven not by what we say we believe, but by the courage with which we obey God.
