BUILD SPIRITUAL MEMORIALS

Text: Joshua 4:6–7 (KJV)

That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones? 7Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

Friends, after God miraculously led the Israelites across the Jordan River, He commanded Joshua to set up twelve stones as a memorial. These stones were to remind every generation that God is faithful and keeps His promises. They would also provide an opportunity to tell future generations about God's mighty works. So, as believers today, we are also called to build spiritual memorials. They may not be physical stones, but they can be our testimonies, prayer journals, thanksgiving, or acts of worship that remind us of God's faithfulness. The psalmist declared, Psalm 103:2 - Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Remembering God's goodness strengthens our faith and keeps our hearts grateful.

Interestingly, when challenges arise, recalling God's past faithfulness gives us confidence for today's battles. David wrote, Psalm 77:11 - I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. Likewise, our testimonies become a source of encouragement to others because Revelation 12:11 - They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony. Hence, your story of God's faithfulness may be the encouragement someone else needs to keep trusting Him. I pray we shall build spiritual memories as a pillar to stand life challenges today in Jesusname.

1. Lord, help me never to forget Your faithfulness as you give me a grateful heart that remembers Your goodness in Jesus name.

2. I pray my testimony will strengthen others and bring glory to Your name in Jesus name.
