Text: Exodus 31:3–5
And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding,
and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, To devise cunning works, to
work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, And in cutting of stones, to set
them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.
Friends, we must
understand that the gifts, talents, and abilities God has placed in our lives
are not meaningless decorations; they are tools meant for His glory. We can see
how God filled Bezaleel with wisdom, and skill in workmanship so that his
talent could be used in the building of the tabernacle. So, your talent is not
merely for personal ambition, applause, or self-promotion, but for fulfilling
divine purpose and revealing the glory of God through the works of our hands. 1 Peter 4:10 - “As every man hath received the gift,
even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold
grace of God.” Bezaleel
had abilities in design, carving, metal work, and craftsmanship but they became
instruments for building something sacred, beautiful, and pleasing unto the
Lord. Therefore, the talents God has given you whether in teaching, writing,
leadership, communication, or service are not accidental. They are divine
deposits placed to become useful in God’s kingdom and to others. Matthew 5:16 - “Let your light so shine before men, that
they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Unfortunately,
people misuse their talents, bury them in fear, or reduce them to self-centered
pursuits without realizing that every gift carries responsibility before God. So,
when your talent is surrendered to the Lord, it becomes more than a natural
ability; it becomes a vessel for impact, service, and kingdom advancement. God
can use your skills to open doors, solve problems, bless lives, and bring
beauty, order, and encouragement to others. Romans 12:6 - Having then gifts differing according to
the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to
the proportion of faith. So, if you have ever looked down on your gift, compared
yourself with others, or wondered whether what you carry is valuable, remember
that your talent is a tool for God’s glory. Offer them back to God, ask Him to
refine them, and let Him use them for a higher purpose. Hence, God is able to
breathe upon your talent, and turn your ability into a tool that reflects His
glory and blesses many lives in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Point:
Oh Lord, help me to recognize that every talent You have placed in my life is a
tool for Your glory as you refine my abilities, and make my life a vessel of
blessing with kingdom impact in Jesus’ name.
Action Quote: Remember, your talent
is not just for personal success; it is a tool placed in your hands to glorify
God and bless lives.
