And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
Friends, we must understand that both our prayers and our generosity have lasting value before God. As we saw in the life of Cornelius, whowas not only a man of continual prayer but also a generous giver to those in need. His devotion was expressed both vertically toward God and horizontally toward people. Hence, heaven regarded his prayers and his giving as a memorial that continually stood before God. This teaches us that true worship is demonstrated through both communion with God and compassion toward others. Proverbs 19:17 – He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. Therefore, every sincere act of giving motivated by love for God becomes an investment with eternal significance. So, cheer up.
Unfortunately, many believers separate prayer from generosity, while others give without cultivating intimacy with God. Yet Scripture shows that both are important expressions of genuine faith. Our giving should flow from hearts devoted to God, and our prayers should produce compassionate living. Luke 6:38 – "Give, and it shall be given unto you..." Therefore, let your life become a testimony of consistent prayer, cheerful giving, and faithful service. As you honourGod with both your heart and your resources, He is able to open doors that no man can shut. Hence, may your prayers and your generosity continually rise before God as a sweet memorial that attracts His favour and divine remembrance in Jesus' name.
