Text: John
6:20 (KJV)
“But he saith unto them, It is I;
be not afraid.”
Friends, fear is one of the greatest battles many
people face today. Fear of failure, fear of the future, fear of rejection, fear
of bad news, and fear of uncertainty can trouble the heart and weaken faith.
The disciples also experienced fear when they found themselves in the middle of
a stormy sea. The wind was strong, the night was dark, and suddenly they saw
Jesus walking on the water, yet they were afraid. But Jesus immediately spoke
these comforting words: “It is I; be not afraid.” This reveals that the
presence of Jesus is the answer to every fearful situation. Whenever Christ
steps into your situation, fear must give way to peace. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not
dismayed; for I am thy God.” So, when you know that Jesus is near, you
can remain calm even when circumstances appear frightening.
Amazingly, fear loses its power when we focus on
God’s promises instead of the storm around us. Many times, we magnify our
problems more than we magnify God, and this causes anxiety to grow. However, Psalm 56:3 says, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in
thee.” Trusting God does not mean challenges will disappear instantly,
but it means you believe God is greater than every challenge. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, “For God hath not given us the
spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Therefore,
every child of God is called to walk in courage and confidence. No matter what
report you hear or what storm rises against you, remember that Jesus is still
saying, “Fear not, it is I.” His voice brings comfort, His presence brings
strength, and His power brings victory. I encourage you today: refuse to
surrender to fear as you hold firmly to God’s Word in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Point:
Oh Lord, remove every fear from my heart and help me to trust completely in
Your presence and promises, in Jesus’ name.
Action Quote: Friends, when Jesus is with you, fear cannot rule your
heart because His presence always brings peace.
